Induced Draft Cross Flow

The crossflow towers have a fill configuration through which the air flows horizontally, across the downward fall of water. Water to be cooled is delivered to hot water inlet basins located atop the fill areas, and is distributed to the fill by gravity through metering inlets in the floor of those basins. There are two types of cross flow applications.

Double Flow: where the fan is inducting air through two inlets and across two banks of fill.

Single Flow: where there is only one air inlet and one fill bank with the remaining three sides of the tower being cased. This type is customarily used in locations where an unrestricted air path to the tower is available from only one direction.
